Ron Nolan named Canada–South Africa Chamber of Business Person of the Year

Hatch's immediate past Chairman and CEO Ron Nolan was recently named the Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business Person of the Year. Ron initiated and nurtured the growth of Hatch's business interests in South Africa from the early 1970s.

From a small office in Johannesburg and a project office in Richards Bay, Hatch has grown dramatically while serving the southern Africa mining, metals, energy and infrastructure sectors
 
Hatch clients in South Africa now prominently include Anglo Platinum, BHP Billiton, De Beers, Impala Platinum, Kumba Resources, Lonmin Platinum, and Transnet, South Africa's central transportation authority.

Hatch has been particularly aggressive in its recruitment campaigns to attract, train and promote South Africans who have been historically disadvantaged. Since Hatch arrived in South Africa it has encouraged scientific and technical training for blacks through scholarships, bursaries and awards at the post-secondary level for undergraduates.
